Mavi Pencere Special Education Association was established to support people in need of special education by developing projects and producing educational programs and materials in the field of Special Education. It was founded by teachers, academics and artists from different disciplines. Mavi Pencere Special Education Association is an exemplary NGO in its true sense. It is a non-profit organisation that does not engage in any type of commercial activities. It only carries out project-based studies. All studies and work we conduct are open to public and all kinds of audits.
In addition;
• We develop distance and online education systems for individuals who are in need of Special Education and also socially and / or economically disadvantaged.
• We conduct studies on sign language and special education of the hearing impaired at the national and international levels.
• We prepare teaching materials in sign language, fight to break and overcome the prejudices about the use of sign language.
• We develop various teaching materials and programs starting from basic education to personal and skills development and carry out studies and projects for individuals who are in need of special education and also socio-economically disadvantaged. By these, we aim to contribute to their personal and professional developments, thus facilitate their lives and increase their employment opportunities even in a global sense.

We, Mavi Pencere Special Education Association, carry out our activities with 21 members and more than 50 volunteers. Gökhan KAYA (Chairman of the Board of the Association) has been working at various positions as a teacher, field chief or administrator for the Ministry of National Education in many schools since 1998. In 2010, thanks to his efforts, he included Turkey in the project titled "Spread the Sign", which was selected as "Best Practice" by the European Commission and it is also the largest sign language literature study in the world, and he served as the Turkey Coordinator of the project for four years. In 2012, he also became the General Coordinator of the Leo / Vetpro project titled "The Bilingual Vocational Education of Hearing Impaired Individuals" , which was supported by the Turkish National Agency. After completing that project successfully, he presented a new vocational training model to the Ministry of Education for the hearing impaired.
